The Kabul Museum: victim of war and iconoclasm. A collection with six pieces 2003

Once the Afghanistan National Museum aka the Kabul Museum, exhibited its extra ordinary collection with artifacts representing thousands of years of human culture. Today, the museum is the sad reflection of human action over the past 13 years. The building is severally damaged, a large part of its collection looted, left are the debris of artifacts intentionally destructed by the Taliban. Under the management of an involved but very carefull director (lip tied about saved pieces hidden at secret locations), the museum is rehabilitating step by step.
