these portraits Afghan women are literally given a face. Portraits which
are looking straight into the viewers eyes, breaking through the still
common western perception of the invisible, burqa clad, passive Afghan
women. Instead, Afghan women are pronounced and experts in many social
fields. They want their voice to be heard, in and outside Afghanistan.
They have willpower, a future outlook, want to participate and claim their
rights
